MARZ DESIGNS THE SOURCEBOOK

ABOUT

Marz Designs is a lighting and objects studio founded in 2019 by industrial designer Coco Reynolds, with a studio and showroom on Bundjalung land in Byron Bay. Lighting is designed in-studio and hand-assembled locally, made to order rather than en masse.

Elemental materials anchor the collections: Terra, a modular ceramic range produced with Gaya Ceramics; Bright Beads, with its hand-turned timber forms; the celestial Aurelia range; and the ancient-Greece-inspired Attalos. The studio works closely with local glassblowers, ceramicists and timber turners, with an aesthetic informed by 1960s and 70s design.

Sustainability is approached with refreshing honesty: Marz is a member of the Greenfleet reforestation program, makes everything to order, repurposes supplier packaging and works to reduce plastic across its supply chain, while openly acknowledging there is further to go. A trade program with spec sheets and 3D files supports designers and architects.
