Process

Previous Stage
Next Stage

Stage One

At the initial stage of your project, we will work closely with you to understand your vision and objectives. This involves an initial consultation to discuss your project in detail. We will also review any initial plans or ideas you may have and ask you questions to gain a better understanding of your vision. If necessary, we’ll schedule a site visit to assess the property and get a better sense of the space.

1. Spatial planning
2. Concept design
3. Selection of finishes, fixtures and joinery
4. Technical drawings and schedule
5. Selections of furniture, artwork and accessories
6. Ongoing support

Stage Two

Based on the information we’ve gathered from our consultation and site visit, we’ll work with you to define the scope of work for your project. This will include identifying your key project goals and requirements, as well as any constraints or challenges that may impact the project.

Stage Three

After defining the scope of work for your project, we move on to stage three: completion of works. Our team will work diligently to ensure that the project is completed to the highest standard. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way and address any concerns you may have, ensuring that you’re completely satisfied with the finished works.

Profile

Hi there, I’m Allie, the founder and creative director of Koselig Design Studio. I believe that great design is born from collaboration, and I’m passionate about guiding others in creating spaces that bring them a feeling of deep contentment, happiness, and personal well-being.

As a qualified interior decorator with six years of personal experience in renovating and building my own homes, I know how overwhelming building and renovating can be. That’s why I’m here to help you navigate the process from start to finish or assist you as needed.

My approach is holistic, and I’ll look at your whole project to help guide you through the potential pathways; with a special interest in sustainability and ethics, I aim to educate my clients on best practices to help them make more informed decisions about their home projects.

And as for the name “Koselig” – it’s a Norwegian word that translates to “cosy” or “warm,” which perfectly reflects my design philosophy. Pronounced “koosh-lee,” it’s a reminder that a well-designed space should not only look beautiful but also feel inviting and comfortable.

Project Brief

To undertake a knockdown and rebuild project located in a prime location with direct access to a beautiful park. While the existing structure was barely liveable, the location and potential of the site make it an ideal candidate for a full rebuild. To ensure optimal natural light and energy efficiency, the project should address the design challenges posed by the south-facing aspect of the site, while also maximising park views and incorporating outdoor living spaces, and the interior design should prioritise functionality and flow with ample storage and living spaces to meet the needs of a modern family.
