“The Hoxton Vienna is a stunning 1950s Carl Appel-designed modernist building, originally an office building, now serving as a boutique hotel in Vienna’s 3rd District, seamlessly blending historical charm with contemporary luxury.”
A 1950s-inspired entry lobby reception desk exudes a divine, warm welcome with vintage elegance and charm.
The design is truly breathtaking, featuring a stunning original green marble and travertine façade, a central staircase, aluminium-wrapped columns, terrazzo floors, and travertine walls in the lobby.
Leaving behind Melbourne’s winter for Vienna’s summer warmth, I embarked on a prelude to Copenhagen’s 3 Days of Design festival. My sanctuary was The Hoxton Vienna, where AIME Studios has masterfully woven mid-century elegance with modernist flair.
Inside, the lobby sparkles with structural grace, adorned with vintage furniture and bespoke rugs that echo the 1950s. Marble facades and travertine walls blend seamlessly with contemporary designs, creating a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.
The hotel’s offerings include a dynamic auditorium, a serene rooftop pool with panoramic city vistas, and the Bouvier bistro, where French culinary delights meet natural wines. At The Hoxton, every corner tells a story of Vienna’s historic charm, inviting guests to dwell where the past meets the present in exquisite harmony.
As I bid a temporary farewell to Vienna, the city’s artistic energy and The Hoxton’s distinctive charm have carved a lasting impression on my heart. With sights set on Copenhagen next, I am excited to see what new inspiration and memories await me, while always cherishing Vienna as a city that will always hold a special place in my heart.
