This year, I had the privilege of attending Milan Design Week 2024 and was utterly mesmerised by WonderGlass’s breathtaking CONTRASTO exhibition at the Istituto dei Ciechi. The synergy of light and shadow, curated through the innovative works of Formafantasma and Nendo, truly captured my heart.

The exhibition, part of the 62nd Salone del Mobile, celebrated the transformative artistry of glass. From molten to solid states, the collection masterfully explored contrasts: light and dark, textured and smooth, opaque and transparent. It was a visual and emotional journey that showcased how time-honored glassmaking traditions can be reimagined through contemporary design.

Set in the historic concert hall of the Istituto dei Ciechi, the atmosphere was magical, heightening the poetic interplay of the showcased designs. On display were two remarkable collections: Dusk by Nendo, and Graft by Formafantasma, each an embodiment of WonderGlass’s philosophy of merging tradition with modernity.
